Luxury Has Lost Its Sheen!
Wedgwood is deeply entrenched into Design Culture as an early adopter of industrial processes, what if it was manufactured for the masses instead of delivering on its high brow perceived value? A provocation that takes a luxury product and reintroduces it’s aesthetic into our disposable culture, a product that is for one use only. How do we as a culture develop new ideals around a disposable culture that has become so heavily entrenched in our social fabric.
As designers, we must reject intentional disposability. We must discontinue perpetuating the idea that we have a limitless world and instead design like it matters. We must engage people with their things to significantly deliver change in a our current social norm of waste.
